GUEST SPEAKER  :

Name of Speaker: Ron Murdock, Partners In Service -  Update

Introduced By: Ted Morrison

Thanked By: Kris Sachdeva

Speaker’s Remark: The Partners In Service provides the  grass roots help to handicapped individuals. Partners In Service is all of the Durham Region Rotary Clubs and also the Lions Clubs in North Oshawa and Courtice who are the main service providers to the much needed service to the handicapped . Ron does a home assessment and a follow up.  Partners In Service ask for 30% of the funds for equipment from the clients, ideally. Big needs have been hospital beds, wheel chairs and motorized wheel chairs.  About 75 projects per year are reviewed and completed by Ron and the Partners In Service.

Thank you Ron!

THE OBJECT OF ROTARY is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:

FIRST. The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;

SECOND. High ethical standards in business and professions, the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations, and the dignifying of each Rotarian's occupation as an opportunity to serve society;

THIRD. The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian's personal, business, and community life;

FOURTH. The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.

The “ideal of service” is the key. It is an attitude that does not change from one version to the next. It is an attitude we all have, as Rotarians.

IF YOU CAN’T MAKE IT, MAKE UP: Pat Dyck, our Club Secretary has a Rotary International Directory of all Rotary Clubs in the world, when and where they meet.
