Every year, as has been the tradition for over 36 years, the Rotary Club of Oshawa - Parkwood sells Heritage Holiday Cakes and Brandt Black Forest Hams for Rotary projects, it was announced, today, by Devon Biddle, Past President of the Rotary Club and Chairman of the fundraising event.

The Rotary Club of Oshawa-Parkwood supports many community services such as Lakeridge Health – Oshawa, the Colonel R. S McLaughlin Durham Regional Cancer Centre, Senior Citizens, Handicapped Adults, the Kids Safety Village of Durham Region, Participation House, Grandview Children’s Centre, YMCA, the Salvation Army, Simcoe Hall Settlement House, Mary Street School, Ontario Tech University and Durham College and many other services, here in the Durham Region and throughout the world. “The Heritage Holiday Cakes are a 2.5 pound fruit cake, and are packaged in a gold and red box. Reasonably priced at $25.00 each, it makes for a very affordable Christmas gift,” Mr. Biddle said.

“Our customers can also order a Brandt boneless smoked hams. The hams, which weigh approximately 2 kilograms, have a double smoke flavour in Black Forest. The purchase price for either ham from Maple Leaf Meats is a real bargain at $25.00 each”, he added.

The hams are firm and meaty, yet tender in texture. They contain less than 6% fat, and come from whole muscle ham with no fillers. Each ham is individually packaged in an attractive festive carton, perfect for gift giving.

We have seen a significant increase in purchases from the business community in Oshawa, over the last few years. We thank them very much. Many corporations and companies are changing their gift giving away from alcoholic gifts to those that the whole family can appreciate. The businesses want to treat their employees and their customers in a manner which better reflects their company’s values. And that is why the Holiday Cakes and Brandt Hams have become very popular Holiday gifts for your family, friends, neighbours, employees, co-workers, or even your favourite customers,” Mr. Biddle remarked.

In past years, we have seen businesses and companies in Oshawa and the surrounding area, switch their gift giving entirely to the Cakes and Hams for their employees and their valued customers. This year will be no exception,” he added.
