THE OBJECT OF ROTARY
is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:
FIRST The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;
SECOND High ethical standards in business and professions, the recognition of the worthiness of all useful
occupations, and the dignifying of each Rotarian's occupation as an opportunity to serve society;
THIRD The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian's personal, business, and community life;
FOURTH The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of
business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.
Rotary Code of Conduct provides a framework for ethical behaviour that all Rotarians can use, together with The Four-Way Test, in their business and professional activities.
ROTARY CODE OF CONDUCT
As a Rotarian, I will
Exemplify the core value of integrity in all behaviours and activities
Use my vocational experience and talents to serve in Rotary
Conduct all of my personal, business, and professional affairs ethically, encouraging and fostering high ethical standards as an example to others
Be fair in all dealings with others and treat them with the respect due to them as fellow human beings
Promote recognition and respect for all occupations which are useful to society
Offer my vocational talents: to provide opportunities for young people, to work for the relief of the special needs of others, and to improve the quality of life in my community
Honour the trust that Rotary and fellow Rotarians provide and not do anything that will bring disfavour or reflect adversely on Rotary or fellow Rotarians
Not seek from a fellow Rotarian a privilege or advantage not normally accorded others in a business or professional relationship

ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Lennis Trotter won the Ace of spades draw this week the Jackpot is over $600.00 dollars .
Motion: Allocate $10,000.00 from the funds of Oshawa Parkwood Rotary Club Charitable Foundation (Corporation) to be paid for the benefit of the Waverly Public School fitness Playground Project (Waverly) the $10,000.00 allocation conditional on the Corporation receiving at least an additional $10,000.00 of donation designated for Waverly.

Hilda announced that we will be selling the manure and tulip bulls at the north market for 5 weeks starting September 11.
Team #2 will be at the Red Barn Bingo this Saturday at 11.00 am.
Ted announced that there where only 2 wild cases of polio left and that the Taliban had killed 5 Volunteers in Pakistan

We will soon have 2 Costco stores in Oshawa and they pay good wages
GM Canada is investing $1.3 Billion of their own money into Oshawa creating 1700 jobs
GEO disk are opening a new business creating up many new jobs
City finances are in good shape, they collect 98% of their tax revenues
We have the lowest crime rates in Ontario
It is estimated we will have a population of 200,000 people in 5 years.
Concerned about unsheltered people and the Opioid crises in the city and is working with the Region on the problem.

To our very own Oshawa-Parkwood Rotarian Eric Guernsey for arranging the Zoom Meeting sharing with Heather McMillan, Executive Director of the Durham Workforce Authority, The Durham Workforce Authority is the acknowledged provider of local workforce information and champion of workforce development initiatives unique to Durham Region. Their Mission is to produce and offer comprehensive Labour Market Information to our stakeholders, to facilitate workforce solutions by engaging community partners and employers and to encourage development and maintenance of a sustainable and dynamic workforce. It was so nice to be able to have a whole hour for our Zoom meeting. We look forward to all of our Zoom meetings and thank you both, for all of your help.
OUR REGULAR WEEKLY MEETINGS STILL ON ZOOM AND WILL NOT BE AT THE OSHAWA GOLF CLUB UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
We will let you know when and if we return to the Oshawa Golf Club. As it stands right now, the Oshawa Golf Club is not hosting any outside organizations (such as ourselves) at the present time.
