THE OBJECT OF ROTARY

is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:

FIRST The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;

SECOND High ethical standards in business and professions, the recognition of the worthiness of all useful

occupations, and the dignifying of each Rotarian's occupation as an opportunity to serve society;

THIRD The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian's personal, business, and community life;

FOURTH The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of

business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.

Rotary Code of Conduct provides a framework for ethical behaviour that all Rotarians can use, together with The Four-Way Test, in their business and professional activities.

ROTARY CODE OF CONDUCT

As a Rotarian, I will

1. Exemplify the core value of integrity in all behaviours and activities

2. Use my vocational experience and talents to serve in Rotary

3. Conduct all of my personal, business, and professional affairs ethically, encouraging and fostering high ethical standards as an example to others

4. Be fair in all dealings with others and treat them with the respect due to them as fellow human beings

5. Promote recognition and respect for all occupations which are useful to society

6. Offer my vocational talents: to provide opportunities for young people, to work for the relief of the special needs of others, and to improve the quality of life in my community

7. Honour the trust that Rotary and fellow Rotarians provide and not do anything that will bring disfavour or reflect adversely on Rotary or fellow Rotarians

8. Not seek from a fellow Rotarian a privilege or advantage not normally accorded others in a business or professional relationship

Kids Safety Village Board and Committee Meeting Mar. 17 – 1:00 pm;

Kids Safety Village and Rotary and Partners Annual joint meeting with our club Apr. 8 at Oshawa Golf Club

Kids Safety Village Easter Eggstravaganza – April 18 and 19 – 9:30 am to 2 pm - please sign up with Lennis if you can assist

Dave Andrews has Reverse Draw Tickets for you to sell. 50 out now. Our goal is 200 (same as last year).

Dave has a number of silent auction items but we need more. Send Dave a photo of the item and description and a Value and Dave will create a poster and post to our Facebook page. Members should start thinking about who they sold tickets to last year. Members were encouraged to think about possible sponsors for this event too. The more the merrier. Dave has supplied everyone with the silent auction items and ticket sales lists from last year, and sample “ask” letters, and promo posters for this year.

Dave reminded members that they should be on the lookout for silent auction items. May 8 will be here before we know it.

Dave Andrews announced: MAR 6 – International Women’s Day – LIVE at Rotary Global Classroom at Durham College  - 7 to 9 PM. Come embrace women and equity in the district as we celebrate the women of Rotary District 7070! We gather March 6th @ 6pm in the Rotary Global Classroom at Durham College in a hybrid setting (In person and online) to celebrate fellowship and hear from female leaders of Rotary District 7070. 

Broadcast starts at 7 pm. IN PERSON Registration fee of $17.00 payable ON LINE WHEN YOU REGISTER in advance. To register: AND TO CONFIRM ATTENDANCE , PLEASE REGISTER IN THE EVENT CALENDAR ON THE DISTRICT 7070 WEBSITE.  Parking will be in Founders Lot 2 @ Durham College . McLaughlin Armoury , 53 Simcoe Street North. SAVE THE DATE : TICKETS NOW AVAILABLE: If you and/or anyone you know might like to participate in this soiree a spot can be saved by E-TRANSFERRING  $135 per person to oshawarotaryclub@rogers.com   and put one's
name followed by NKD so the treasurer (Ron Dick) will know what the money is for. Bar opens at 6 pm. Dinner at 7 pm.  Fundraiser for Canadian Landmine Foundation by the Oshawa Rotary Club.
