Meeting at the Golf Club on October 19 is also cancelled – to accommodate World Polio Day on October 21, also virtual from 7-8:15pm – co-hosted by Oshawa and Oshawa Parkwood – a premier event for District 7070 – watch for the link to register for this event
Kids Against Hunger – Ted Morrison announced that we will be able to have this event sometime in November 2021 – he will contact the Jubilee and other clubs

Shared a video of fire department in action
Explained how firemen work in teams
Re-organized management team and added 2 new professionals to assist in administration
Updated the Oshawa Fire Underwriter Survey
The department go to approximately 100 major fires a year over $5,000.00
Fire department Programs include: Tiered Response; Fire prevention; Car seat clinic; Coffee with crews; Community safety on wheels; Fire safety education initiative; Meals on wheels for seniors; Safety Village.
Fires in residential housing units are up and are their main concern, industrial and commercial buildings are not as frequent.
Diversity and hiring is being addressed.

Global Classroom in the new Centre for Collaborative Education at Durham College where we will celebrate
World Polio Day with leaders from around the world. This is one of District 7070’s premier events in the Rotary
