Andy made a very special presentation to Past President Hilda Finnigan for her trip to the Rotary International Convention in Lisbon. She has a leash for Incoming President Al Finnigan. Al has a habit of not being on time for air departures, and many other things we are sure. The leash will help keep Al close by and not miss the plane.

Vice President Al Finnigan:

In absentia, Al asked everyone to contact him with their choices for Committees for  the 2013-2014 Rotary Year which starts in 2 weeks. Many committee members will be asked to volunteer  / assigned to the same committees as last year to provide continuity to ensure the strength of the committees.

Incoming Vice President Robbie Larocque:

GUEST SPEAKER  :

There was no speaker tonight.

THE OBJECT OF ROTARY is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:

FIRST. The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;

SECOND. High ethical standards in business and professions, the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations, and the dignifying of each Rotarian's occupation as an opportunity to serve society;

THIRD. The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian's personal, business, and community life;

FOURTH. The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.

The “ideal of service” is the key. It is an attitude that does not change from one version to the next. It is an attitude we all have, as Rotarians.

IF YOU CAN’T MAKE IT, MAKE UP : Be sure to go the District 7070 website, www.rotary7070.org for a list of times, dates and locations of all Rotary Clubs in District 7070. And be sure to go to www.rotary.org to find the date, time , and location of all Rotary Clubs in the world. There is even an app for this too.
