LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

We respectfully acknowledge that we are hosting this Rotary Club of Oshawa-Parkwood meeting from land within the jurisdiction of Williams Treaties and on the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nations, the Anishnaabe, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples. This acknowledgement reminds us of our responsibilities to our relationships and the ancestral lands on which we learn, share and live.

November 5 - November 5 - Kids Against Hunger packaging at the Jubilee Pavilion (about 8:30 am to 2 pm) with Oshawa, Whitby, and Whitby-Sunrise Rotary Clubs

November 27 - District Governor John Burns Official Visit to the 2 Rotary Clubs in Oshawa – 11:45 am to 1:30 pm, Wendel Clark’s Restaurant, 67 Simcoe St N, Oshawa, ON L1G 4S3. A luncheon meeting. Joint meeting of the two Rotary Clubs here in Oshawa.

Linda announced available funds for District Foundation Grants were not all used past Rotary year.What project can we do this Rotary Year to assist locally (with all district clubs)?

We have a spot at Autofest on August 26; can we sell birdhouses?

ACE OF SPADES:

Hilda won the opportunity to draw the Ace of Spades, but instead drew the 6 of hearts and received a tube of toothpaste as a consolation. The jackpot grows.

 

HAPPY BUCKS

Hilda was happy Al is golfing. Also happy tulips have been ordered and thanked Bill and Sue for an excellent picnic.

Janice and Kris watched a movie “Never Fear” It was very good and main character contacts polio…no more giveaways.

Janice is wearing her name badge and pin!

Bob Koski mentioned BBQ was good and golfing this year was the best yet; 2 wheel chairs have come his way and Ted will contact Partners in Service for placement.
