Land Acknowledgement

We respectfully acknowledge that we are hosting this Rotary Club of Oshawa-Parkwood meeting from land within the jurisdiction of Williams Treaties and on the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nations, the Anishnaabe, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples. This acknowledgement reminds us of our responsibilities to our relationships and the ancestral lands on which we learn, share and live.

Sue MacKinnon - Summer BBQ steak dinner - Sunday, July 16. 2:00pm to when it's over. At Bill Creamer’s Daughter’s home  - 20 Sunny Ridge Trail, Hampton - very close to Enniskillen Conservation Area.  $25 each plus a salad or dessert.   Please  Let Sue know if. you plan to attend.

Dave Andrews – The Rotary Club of Whitby Sunrise is looking for volunteers for their Ribfest this weekend (July 7, 8 and 9).  It was noted if you have SmartServe, it does not expire until end of August this year. Here is Shauna Moore’s email if you can volunteer:   shaunamoore@gmail.com

Dave Andrews announced LAST CALL for the “Movie Night” sponsored by Whitby Sunrise “Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning” with Tom Cruise!  July 12th /$15.00 ea. And we are going out for dinner first. Register with Dave ASAP – LAST CALL FOR TICKETS IS JULY 4. We will still have our regular July 11 club meeting. North American Premier of the Tom Cruise new movie is in addition to that meeting. Looks like 10 people so far.

Hilda Finnigan stated we are still receiving donations towards the Yard Sale with date change to July 8th ; a new sign up sheet for volunteers was circulated at our meeting on July 4ththanks to those who can volunteer.

ACE OF SPADES:

Al Finnigan won the chance to draw the Ace of Spades, but instead drew the 8 of clubs and received a tube of toothpaste as a consolation. The jackpot grows.

HAPPY BUCKS:    Bob Koski Sargent at Arms:  - Be sure to wear your Rotary pin  - no pin  = fined a buck!

Bob happy as his eldest granddaughter will be going to Vienna for 2nd term studying Landscape Engineering at Guelph University.

Hilda happy Tim Dwyre is home and well.  Also Dave Rusza was visiting North Oshawa Farmers Market on Saturday and he is willing to volunteer but not join our club.

Robert Kipling thinks a fine for no pin is appropriate.

Dave Penney happy he was finally able to get some gas for his boat.  He thought he might miss meeting and be stranded out on the lake!

Al has a pen not a pin but happy air condition is now fixed and Hilda will be happy too!

Bill paid his fine and would like to see as many as possible at our Summer BBQ!

Lennis paid his fine and son in Maritimes on enjoying his summer vacation.

Ted happy his grandson graduated with a 91% high school average and will now study political science at University of Ottawa.  Ted also happy he will take position of a new Cadillac in December!

Dave Andrews happy to donate left over tooth paste and dental floss (from Brushamania from Sonya and Raffy and the Rotary Club of Scarborough Passport) to Feed the Need in Durham.

Steve Rutledge thrilled to be back and looking forward to joining Rotarians at movies next week.
