Tracy presented to President Robbie Larocque The 2022 Marten Van Harmelen Volunteer Award. Every year in December we celebrate the successes of the past year and recognize the contribution of both our employees, and our very important community partners. The Marten VanHarmelen award acknowledges Volunteerism is an important element for the health of every community. Through the selfless giving of time and sharing of knowledge many organizations and the people they support prosper from these champions. As a means of celebrating and recognizing the valuable contribution of members of the community who embrace this practice of volunteerism. PH introduced the Marten Van Harmelen Volunteer Award back in 2015. The Oshawa Parkwood Rotary club has been a huge supporter of PH, it’s efforts and those it supports for a number of years. Many of our service recipients have been deeply impacted by your generosity. Pre-covid the Christmas dinner that you included us in was a highlight of many people’s year. Getting to see old friends and truly celebrate the spirit of the season surrounded by genuinely caring people is something that cannot be replicated. It’s because of service groups like the Oshawa Parkwood Rotary, that we are able to fulfill our commitment ensuring that everyone involved with PH has the opportunity to experience full citizenship. Something you cannot put a price on! Many thanks to you all and your ongoing commitment to make a difference not only in the lives of people but in your community.
