GUEST SPEAKER:   PAST DISTRICT GOVERNOR TED MORRISON – PAUL HARRIS AWARDS NIGHT

Four Oshawa citizens honoured with Rotary's Highest Award......

The Rotary Club of Oshawa-Parkwood honoured Jennifer Clark, Durham College; Morgan Joy, student; Will Lutchford, Kids' Safety Village, and Frank Sobil, Red Barn Bingos at the Oshawa Golf & Curling Club with Paul Harris Awards for their service to the community and to Rotary, at the Rotary Club of Oshawa-Parkwood's Annual Paul Harris Awards Night on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 .

Ted Morrison , Rotary Past District Governor and a member of the Rotary District 7070 Rotary Foundation committee, a proud member of the Rotary Club of Oshawa-Parkwood, conducted the presentation ceremonies. Rotary District 7070 Governor Iosif Ciosa talked about the importance of the Awards and handed their Paul Harris Awards to each of the recipients.

The presentation of a Paul Harris Fellow award, the highest award that a Rotary club can bestow on members of the community, is The Rotary Foundation’s way of expressing its appreciation for a substantial contribution to its humanitarian and educational programs, made by the Rotary Club of Oshawa-Parkwood on their behalf. It is named for Rotary’s founder, a Chicago lawyer, who started our organization with three business associates in 1905.

In addition, Rotarians John Kellam, Bob Stewart, Linda Biddle, Lennis Trotter , Dr. Larry Hurren, Sue MacKinnon and David Penney, were presented with Paul Harris Fellow Awards for reaching the next level of their donations to The Rotary Foundation.

In addition, Rotarians also received membership to The Paul Harris Society for their outstanding contributions to The Rotary Foundation: Linda Biddle, Larry Hurren, Ted Morrison, David Penney, Dr. kris Sachdeva, Bob Stewart, and Lennis Trotter.

Dr. Kris Sachdeva also received Major Donor Recognition for his generous donation to The Rotary Foundation

It is because of gifts such as this that The Rotary Foundation can carry out an array of programs that achieve beneficial changes in our world: Improved living conditions, increased food production, better education, wider availability of treatment and rehabilitation for the sick and disabled, new channels for the flow of international understanding, and brighter hopes for peace, including Rotary's work in the eradication of Polio.
