Oct. 12, 2019 11:00 a.m. - Nov. 10, 2019 4:00 p.m.
2019 ORDER DEADLINE IS NOVEMBER 10, 2019 AT 4 PM Once again this year, as has been the tradition for over 37 years, the Rotary Club of Oshawa-Parkwood is selling Heritage Holiday Cakes and Smoked Hams (again, this year from Brandt Meats) for Rotary projects, it was announced, today, by Ted Morrison, Past President of the Rotary Club and Chairman of the fundraising event. The Rotary Club of Oshawa-Parkwood supports many community services such as Lakeridge Health – Oshawa, the Colonel R. S McLaughlin Durham Regional Cancer Centre, Senior Citizens, Handicapped Adults, the Kids Safety Village of Durham Region, Participation House, Grandview Children’s Centre, YMCA, the Salvation Army, Simcoe Hall Settlement House, Mary Street School, UOIT and Durham College and many other services, here in the Durham Region and throughout the world, like the eradication of Polio, worldwide. “The Heritage Holiday Cake is a 2 pound 8 ounce fruit cake, and is packaged in a gold and red box. Reasonably priced at $25.00 each, it makes for a very affordable Christmas gift. The all-butter fruit cakes with brandy extract make a perfect end to a traditional festive dinner or make an elegant gift idea for your family, friends and corporate clients. Many people tend to think of fruit cakes as a treat to be served at Christmas only but we are pleased to say that they make great gifts all year round ,” Mr. Morrison said. “This year, we have available, 2 kg Smoked Black Forest Style Hams from Brandt Meats, delivered in a Brandt bag. They are lean hams, mildly cured, delicately smoked and cooked and can be enjoyed oven baked, sliced for sandwiches or cubed in a salad. The purchase price for 2 kg Brandt Black Forest Ham is a real bargain at $25.00”, he added. “We have seen a significant increased demand from the business community in Oshawa, over the last few years. We thank them very much. Many corporations and companies are changing their gift giving to those that the whole family can appreciate. Businesses and organizations want to treat their employees and their customers in a manner which better reflects their company’s values. And that is why the Holiday Cakes and Hams have become very popular Holiday gifts for your family, friends, neighbours, employees, coworkers, or even your favourite customers,” Mr. Morrison remarked. “In past years, we have seen businesses and companies in Oshawa and the surrounding area, switch their gift giving entirely to the Cakes and Hams for their employees and their valued customers. This year will be no exception,” he added. Orders may be placed with any memebr of the Rotary club of Oshawa-Parkwood or with Rotarian Ted Morrison by calling 905-623-3810 before November 10. You may also email your order to him at ted.sharron@rogers.com OR Orders may be placed with any memebr of the Rotary club of Oshawa-Parkwood or with Rotarian Devon Biddle by calling 905-576-2563 before November 10. You may also email your order to him at ljbiddle@sympatico.ca The Cakes and Hams will be available sometime in the first week of December, just in time for the gift giving season.
