GUEST SPEAKER:

Bob Wallace was introduced by President Ted Morrison.

Most of the members in attendance had their laptops or I-pads with them. Dave Andrews’ had his laptop and guided the rest through the presentation through the overhead projector.

Bob first pointed out that when you go to Rotary.org on the internet you are seeing the public website. Here members of the public can learn about Rotary and also indicate that they want to join Rotary.

When you click on “My Rotary” at the top of the page, you are prompted to sign in. If you haven’t registered an account yet, there is also an account registration button.

Once you are signed in to My Rotary, it will show at the top of the page that you are logged in.

Bob walked us through many of the online tools that are available in My Rotary.

For example:

Brand Centre – all logos and everything related to public image (templates, etc.) is available.

Rotary Showcase – Can see the impact of the sum of volunteer hours and donations from all clubs.

Rotary Ideas – Is like a crowd funding place for projects. In addition to funding, you can also reuest partners and volunteers.

Courses – Hundreds of courses are available on many topics. These are all on-line self-directed courses.

Discussion Groups – Can join a conversation with Rotarians worldwide.

Bob also walked us through the www.rotary7070.org ClubRunner site, for which a separate login is required. Here you can register for RLI and any upcoming seminars on Membership or Global Grants, as well as for the District Conference being held in Prince Edward County October 27, 2018.

President Ted thanked Bob for his enlightening presentation.
