GUEST SPEAKER: Our very own President Ted Morrison, Chair of District 7070 Rotary Foundation Annual Programs Fund – Talks about the ROTARY FOUNDATION here in November – Rotary Foundation Month

Since our club started, our members have raised $333,260 in US dollars

There are 17 Paul Harris Fellows, 8 Benefactors and 2 Major Donors

Two people have authorized Rotary to take money out each month by way of Rotary Direct– very painless way to contribute to The Rotary Foundation.

Everyone should give something. And if you can't give $100, please make a donation EVERY YEAR TO THE EVERY ROTARIAN EVERY YEAR PLAN. PLEASE GIVE WHAT YOU CAN!!!!

Ted also talked about the graduated awards we can receive as our donations to The Rotary Foundation grow, year after year. And our donations are tax deductible. We can even put our donations in our will and become Benefactors to The Rotary Foundation.

The Rotary Foundation transforms your gifts into projects that change lives both close to home and around the world. As the charitable arm of Rotary, we tap into a global network of Rotarians who invest their time, money, and expertise into our priorities, such as eradicating polio and promoting peace. Foundation grants empower Rotarians to approach challenges such as poverty, illiteracy, and malnutrition with sustainable solutions that leave a lasting impact. Strong financial oversight, a stellar charity rating, and a unique funding model mean that we make the very most of your contribution. Give and become a part of Rotary’s life-changing work!

Read highlights from the past year in our Rotary Foundation annual report.

Rotary Foundation named World's Outstanding Foundation

Ted talked about the history of the Rotary Foundation and how it started in 1917 at the Rotary International Convention in Philadelphia, by President Arch Klumph and showed a youtube video . Here is the link to the video.

Ted talked about the sustainable projects and the 6 Areas of Focus that are the results of Rotarians working with Rotarians through the grant process.

He showed us the three Funds of the Rotary Foundation: The Annual Programs Fund, the Polio Fund (also called special projects fund) , and the Endowment Fund. He showed us how our donations work. How our District gets half back in 3 years to use for District designated Funds, how the World Fund works, and how we get our District and Global grants. And how our dollars are “Shared” with the rest of the Rotary world to “Do Good In the World”. He also talked about the canadian Government's $6 million donation over 5 years for canadian Rotary Clubs to use on grants.
