Pres. Dave Penney’s doctor to follow up on his hand operation on Monday. Also having a get together with friends at the cottage
Ted Morrison happy granddaughter is having an interview tomorrow not today for a job in Toronto.
Lennis was at his granddaughter’s first soccer game.
Ana had a great vacations 2 kids are very happy, they mined amethyst and viewed the Terry Fox statue..
Janice happy Chris’s grandson got a job and accommodation in Ajax

Catch the Ace is now $519.00, last week won by Vince Alicandri hopefully he will use it to buy more tickets – thanks to all who bought tickets; we need to promote with friend and family; those outside of our club,
District Governor Ron Dick’s weekly news report is about the Honouring Indigenous Persons (AKA H.I.P) event Registration deadline for the Y2Y (Youth to Youth) program is August 15.
Janice Coupland is going to be the representative on the planning committee with the Bowmanville Rotary club for Concert for The-Feed-The-Need program in Bowmanville
V.P. Janice and Hilda are putting the finishing touches BBQ/Picnic outing

SPEAKER: Oshawa-Parkwood Rotarians and MP for Oshawa, Dr Colin Carrie
Janice introduced MP and fellow Rotarian Dr. Colin Carrie as the guest speaker
President Dave Penny thanked Colin for his enthusiastic presentation.
The presentation last night included the following points
Suggested that the lessons learned from his Rotary membership and the lessons of Rotary have helped him become better at his job serving his constituents.
The Rotary 4 Way Test and how he incorporated them into his day to day duties
His 3 Private members’ initiatives: Digital labeling, Human trafficking; Victims rights.
Oshawa has changed over the years and how it is now named as one of the best communities in Canada.
Has made efforts to diversify our economy and transition away from single industry town.
Dr. Carrie mentioned the infrastructure investments made during his time to help support these initiatives. Stated how Oshawa’s future is bright. Our best days are ahead of us. The COVID-19 pandemic has been a challenge but it has brought people together.
Dr. Carrie applauded our members who had selflessly reached out to others during this difficult time.
With the potential of a Pickering airport, a high speed train and GM reopening our future looks good.
