Janice announced that this month’s social will be held at the Brewhouse on July 30 at 6 pm.
President Hilda announced of our next reverse draw will be Thursday May 8th 2025.
We go back to the market August 31 plan to have tulip bulbs by then.
Ted announced the Kids Against Hunger date will be Saturday November 2 .
Our Assistant Governor Shauna Moore was here and commented on how happy she is to be our ADG.

HAPPY BUCKS:
1.Mayor Carter was happy to be back here with us. He is happy it is summertime.
2. Shashi continues to be happy to be here and looks forward to doing good in the world with us.
3 David A was happy to have a very productive Rotary Information Meeting with four of our prospective new members. They asked a lot of questions and are eager to get started in the club.
4. Tess is also happy to be at the meeting tonight.
5. Linda P welcomed Dan, Shauna and Gord to the meeting.
6. Lennis attended a car show on the weekend (sorry Lennis I did not write down where it was)
7. Emmy was glad to be at this meeting when Mayor Dan is speaking.
8. AG Shauna put in $15 to say she was happy to be here and she found out very quickly that AL F is cute he is also not innocent
9. President Hilda welcomed everyone . It is nice to see a crowd again.
10 Al F announced he bought a new car—a Cadillac and he even gets to drive it sometimes when Hilda lets him.
David Andrews introduced Mayor Dan Carter.
The Mayor told everyone he is PROUD to be the Mayor of the “ Great City of Oshawa”.
He said people should be curious and not judgemental about Oshawa.
Our history shows that we were leaders in industry from a very early time right up to today.
Mayor Carter spent much of his time talking about the opiate crisis. It is getting worse. We had 500 overdoses last year on the streets in Oshawa. This year we have 800 overdoses . Last year there were 46,000 deaths in Canada. He told a heart-breaking story about a mother who called him about her addicted son. He was on life support at the hospital and they called her to get her permission to pull the plug.
Oshawa continues to grow we are over 200,000 now. We have the lowest unemployment rate in Canada.
Mayor Carter’s speech was spellbinding. He was inspirational and his enthusiasm for Oshawa IS INFECTIOUS.
