MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING:  Tuesday, September 23, 2025

Editor: Tess Pierce

Tonight’s Meeting Theme is Thanks to Al Finnigan

“Rich Tickety Boo”

The phrase "Rich Tickety Boo" is not a standard English idiom. Instead, it appears to be a creative play on the British colloquialism "tickety-boo," which means "in good order," "all right," or "satisfactory". Adding the word "rich" likely serves to intensify the meaning, implying that a situation is not just fine, but perfectly excellent or lavishly successful.

This editor is thankful to Rotarians, like Al, for broadening her vocabulary.

CHECK PRESENTATION TO THE FOUNDATION

Vahun Murukappar & Mahlan Thiru from PrimePath Community Care present President David with donation.

It all started as a conversation Shashi had at our BBQ. When talking to Vahun, Shashi learned about the work he does helping people age well at home. Vahun, impressed with the Foundation’s work, pledged $500.00 and tonight he and his colleague presented that check. Vahun told us about PrimePath and the work they do collaborating with all levels of government and with local groups like Rotary. He said if we had any feedback that can improve their work, he would appreciate it.

NEW MEMBER INDUCTION:

Our newest member is Bev Fiddler.

Bev is already a familiar site at our meetings and Shashi formally introduced her tonight. Most of us knew she was recently retired from teaching, but WOW! Her work on the DRPS Diversity Advisory Committee, her long-standing involvement with the Elementary Teacher’s Federation and volunteering at the John Howard Society shows her dedication to community service.

Bev shared her moving family story about how Rotary helped her mother.

Welcome Bev! We are lucky to have you.
