It was a nice Zoom meeting in which Directors' of each Committee laid out their goals for the 2020--2021
For the International Committee we plan to
1 Continue Laos project with Steve Rutledge
2 Water project in Kenya with Richard Mewhinney
3 Re evaluation of Operation eyesight
4 Continue supporting Shelter box
5 Continue with GLP (Guatemala Literacy Project.
6 Show our club the Video presentation of our Humanitarian Ganguli Project
7 Look in ESRAG (ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTENANCE ROTARY ACTION GROUP)

Goals:
1.Strive to obtain the 2020-21 Rotary Citation by trying to reach some of the following goals:
Write media releases and send to the local media and also post on to our social media accounts, successful club projects and events, with details about activities, volunteer hours, and funds raised
Use all of Rotary’s official promotional materials available in the Brand Center to promote Rotary in our community
2. Club Website, Club Facebook Page, Club Twitter, Instagram Accounts keep updated with stories, site pages, events, bulletins, speakers, photos, etc 4 times a month. Look into creating a Club LinkedIn account and posting at
the same rate.
3. Maintain strong relationship with The Oshawa Express – Continue to work closely with The Oshawa Express to secure news articles for their monthly Rotary half page, on the same no charge basis as last year, thanks to Sandy
and Kim.
4. Update Club brochure and print sufficient copies to give out a special events, and to prospective members.
5. Revise business card, and ask members who needs more? Work with Accuprint in Oshawa. Use the Brand Center for consistent Rotary “look”.
6. Create an action plan to help our club members answer each of the following questions in no more than 25 words:
What is Rotary?
Who are Rotarians?
What does Rotary do?

Public relations informs communities around the world that Rotary is a credible organization that meets real needs.
It is the responsibility of every Rotarian in our club to tell their story and to spread the good word about Rotary and our Rotary Club.
When a Rotary club has a positive public image, current members
are motivated to be active and prospective members are eager to join.
Our Role: Our role is to develop a plan and carry out ways to provide the public with information about Rotary and to promote our club’s service projects and activities.

Contributions to TRF:
Annual Fund -- $1500
Polio Fund -- $1500
$100 CAD times the number of club members (preferably the maximum membership during the year) to Annual Fund
One additional Benefactor
Foundation committee members will look for and promote an opportunity for a Global Grant keeping in mind that the club will need to have matching funding available.

Community and Youth will be starting to join in their meetings together the first part of September
Projects that we have been assisting:
The Krinkle Project
Feed the Need Durham – donated over the Covid crisis and are working towards a virtual event in December with Joe Solway
Participation House – no buffet or Christmas party this year due to Covid we will be purchasing Christmas gifts instead
Lakeridge Oshawa Foundation – one Smart Pump $5,000
Janice has approached Peter Bocking Whitby Sunrise and Michael Adams – Oshawa to see if we can go in together to purchase more pumps

Back Door Mission
$1,800 remaining from the COVID-19 match with the Public – Sue would like us to consider: Penney Family (Partners in Service) $400; Krinkle Project - $400; Back Door Mission - $500; Feed the Need - $500 Email will go out to the Committee and then the Board for approval
Community and Youth Service Committees will be meeting to discuss other organizations and volunteering at events if possible
