GUEST SPEAKERS:      ROGER HUNT – GENERAL MANAGER – OSHAWA GENERALS

DEREK LAXDAL – COACH – OSHAWA GENERALS

Past President Dave Andrews introduced our guest speakers – Derek Laxdal Coach and Roger Hunt General Manager of our own Oshawa Generals Hockey Team. These speakers spoke highly of the players past and present.  They also are proud told us of their own journey as players and how they progressed to their present positions.  They bring much experience to the ice and those playing today.

They spoke proudly of the Alumni who often return to visit and are proud of the role they play in the lives of young players often away from home for the first time. Mentoring is a large part of this. Winning the Memorial Cup in 2015 was of course a great accomplishment, the video replayed this for us.  ( see the video: https://youtu.be/4ICLYHqwZPE?si=MKgi-Tu_hlCTiHQm )

The Generals remain the only team to have won this Cup five times

.Al Finnigan thanked Derek and Roger for their interesting presentation despite his own loyalty to the Peterborough Pete’s!!

 President Linda adjourned the meeting.
