There will be Proclamations from Cities in Durham Region and also from Durham Region given out to our 10 Rotary clubs together with flag raising ceremonies shown on the big screen.

WE ARE INVITING ROTARY'S WORLD LEADERS TO BE ON THE BROADCAST: Stay tuned to see who is coming this year, In 2024, we heard from Stephanie Urchick (Rotary International President 2024-25) and Mark Maloney (Chair of the Trustees of The Rotary Foundation 2024-25) by video. Michael McGovern, Rotary’s International Polio Plus Chair , was on the big screen, and provided an up to date look at where we are in our fight against polio. H was also on the distinguished panel. Other panelists were Jennifer Jones (Rotary International President 2022-23) , Valarie Wafer (Rotary International Director 2020-22, Rotary International Vice-President in 2021-22 and our very own Past District 7070 Governor 2013-14), and Dr Tunji Funsho (Chair Emeritus of PolioPlus in Nigeria ). The panel answered many questions and updated all of us about Rotary's efforts with our Global Polio Eradication initiative Partners to End Polio Now .

THIS YEAR: Together, our Rotary International leaders (Mike McGovern, Rotary International PolioPlus Chair, Aziz  Memon form Pakistan, and Valarie Wafer, Past Rotary International Vice President and the Grants sub committee chair for the Rotary International Polio Plus Committee) will update us about Rotary's very latest efforts with our Global Polio Eradication initiative Partners to End Polio Now. They will also participate in a panel discussion: What can we do to eradicate polio from the planet - Rotary's promise to the children of the world in 1988?
