ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Dave – Reverse Draw –May 10 is fast approaching Tickets have been printed . It is Time to SELL - Last year we had 125 people for dinner, 156 tickets sold. This year the ticket is $125. We need YOU to help sell more tickets this year and get more Silent Auction Items to reach the profit levels that our members said was our top fundraising priority in our Visioning Exercise and also in our Strategic Plan.

Sonya – Youth Committee Meeting Tuesday March 5 (Time to be announced) - David Penney has been asked to join our Committee. We would love you to come out

Dave, Linda and Lennis – District Grant approved for $7,200 for Safety Village – We are now trying to select a date for all ten Durham Region Rotary Club Presidents to attend a photo op at the Kids Safety Village, and receive the cheque

Lennis – Safety Village has cancelled Easter Egg Hunt due to the renovation and expansion project. And great news: Halloway Developments Limited (Bob Hann’s daughter ) has donated $40,000 and $5,000 has been donated by the Whitby Lions. There is a meeting of the KSV Board and Committee on March 12 at 7 pm and the Region of Durham Headwuarters on Rossland Road.

Linda - Has everyone registered for the International Convention in June? You should also consider to volunteer

CONVENTION June 23 to 27

Linda – There is a Rotary Club Board of Directors meeting on March 6 at 5 pm , her at the Golf Club

Linda - A Rotary Ad is going into the Oshawa Chamber of Commerce Business Directoty for 2018-19 and the cost will be shared with the Rotary Club of Oshawa

Linda said that Dave & Ted attended the Grants Management Seminar in early February and our club is now qualified to apply for a 2018-2019 global grant. The Memorandum of Understanding for 2018-19 for the Rotary Foundation Grant Qualification has been signed

Linda – Bob Elliott is asking all would-be curlers to join him in setting up a team from our Rotary Club to attend the Macrh 25 District 7070 Curling Bonspiel, from about 8:30 am to about 2:00 pm, right here at the Oshawa Golf Club.

Kim – received a request Carolina Rodriguez, President of the Rotaract Club of Durham College – UOIT for fund to send 3 Rotaractors to the Rotaract Pre Converntion. This cost may be shares with The Rotary Club of Whitby Sunrise, the cosponsors of the Rotaract Club.

Linda - is attending Multi-District – President Elect Training 2 on Friday and Saturday – then on Sunday & Monda, she is very excited to be going to the Headquartersof Rotary International nearEvanston, Illinois – Linda will share on Facebook

Linda - Membership Meeting March 20 starting at 5:00 pm

Linda – if anyone has used up their “Be Our Guest” Cards , please see Linda and she will arrange to get more for you

CONVENTION June 23 to 27

TedKids Against Hunger – Meal Packing Day - May 5 – 9 am to about 12:30 pm - location is confirmed as Durham College, Please ask your friends and family , grandchildren too (over 8 years old) to come out and help!!! Joint project with the Rotary Club of Whitby-Sunrise . Our goal is to pack 15,000 meals.
