Jelly Jar Guessing Game

So many off the wall guesses. From 33-300! There were 184 jelly hearts. Two folks tied for closest – Leon Efraim and Marie Igbokwe. Marie won the coin toss and took home the jelly hearts. We raised $91.00 for End Polio tonight!

 

Trivia Fun

A large and animated group attended tonight’s meeting (26 in total!). In addition to our spouses, we enjoyed the company of long-time Rotarian Reg Malachowski and his wife, Sandy. Also joining us was our newest member, Sudeep Ooomen and his wife, Sarah.

Instead of a traditional meeting format, Tess put together 20 (of what she thought to be ‘easy’) trivia questions. Five teams competed for a win. The questions were about both Valentine’s Day and Rotary. The best score from Team David M, Craig P, John D, Camille M, & Linda P. was 14/20. The ‘booby prize’ for lowest score went to Donald’s team with a whopping 6/20. This was a surprise because Donald often blurted out the correct answer instead of writing it down.

The questions that everyone got were:

  • What do XXOO symbolize? (kisses & hugs)

  • Where was the very first Rotary club in Canada? (Winnipeg)

The question everyone missed was: 

Maybe Tess better re-evaluate what an ‘easy’ trivia question really is. Easy or hard we all had fun.

Thanks to Kay & Larry Hurren for the extra Merci! Chocolates. We also enjoyed cupcakes for dessert.

Our next meeting, on Feb 17, is a special Lunar New Year celebration. 2026-the year of the Horse.
