We respectfully acknowledge that we are hosting this Rotary Club of Oshawa-Parkwood meeting from land within the jurisdiction of Williams Treaties and on the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nations, the Anishnaabe, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples. This acknowledgement reminds us of our responsibilities to our relationships and the ancestral lands on which we learn, share and live.

NOV 27 - District Governor John Burns Official Visit to the 2 Rotary Clubs in Oshawa – 11:45 am to 1:30 pm, Wendel Clark’s Restaurant, 67 Simcoe St N, Oshawa, ON L1G 4S3. A luncheon meeting. Joint meeting of the two Rotary Clubs here in Oshawa. Our Nov 28 meeting is cancelled.
DEC 1 and 2 AND DEC 7 & 8: Christmas at the Kids Safety Village - We need lots of volunteers from our club for all four evenings. 4:30 pm to 8 pm – See Sue MacKinnon to sign up.
DEC 2 – Breakfast to support Sharon’s Kids, at the Crooked Uncle. A no charge Drive Thru breakfast - just bring a gift. PLEASE NOTE: The Crooked Uncle is located on a corner lot. Entry from Simcoe Street will be restricted. Please plan to enter coming eastbound down Orchardview Boulevard towards Simcoe St. You will be directed into the parking lot of The Crooked Uncle to drop off your gift and receive your breakfast. You will then be directed out through the plaza onto Simcoe Street. Thank you!

DEC 10 – Concert for Feed The Need in Durham – The 11 Rotary Clubs in Durham Region invite everyone in Rotary, Rotaract clubs and the whole Rotary family in District 7070 in southern to the 6th Annual Concert for Feed The Need in Durham. Arranged by Joe Solway, Rotary Club of Bowmanville.

The Concert to Feed the Need in Durham is a co-presentation of Rotary clubs of Durham Region and Feed the Need in Durham. It brings together award winning musicians from across the Region in support of Feed the Need in Durham, which collects and distributes food to over 65 emergency food providers across Durham, including food banks, shelters, meal and snack programs and other social service agencies. Feed the Need in Durham provides over 1.5M meals to Durham residents annually.
Ted Morrison announced that the Cakes/Hams have been ordered. Arrival on November 27, 2023 at McIntosh Anderson Kellan Funeral Home for the big orders to pick up. .
Sue announced that we are working with The Jube and Participation House for a Christmas Lunch being held on December 5, 2023. Lunch is $30.00 per person 11:30 am start.
Sue is exploring the possibility of our Christmas Party to be held on December 12 with a venue of Larry’s Condo Party Room. Details will follow.
Robert K. reminded the Club of an upcoming concert at the Simcoe Street United Church on December 20, 2023. The Professors of Funk will be performing tickets are priced at $25.00 general admission and $50.00 reserved seats. It's the return of the Professors of Funk Friends & Family Christmas Special! Established in 2014, this annual concert for the Back Door Mission quickly became reknowned as one of Oshawa and Durham's signature holiday events and we're setting the stage again for an unforgettable experience. JAN 2 – Regular Meeting – 6 to 8 pm – Oshawa Golf Club. We will be ordering off the Golf Club menu and having a dinner with Rotarians. No schedule meeting agenda or speaker. It is a welcome back to the new year. Golf Club members can pay by signing a chit. Non members can pay by credit card.

Janice was very happy at a recent visit from Sue and Christmas Decorations are up for 2023.
Bob K is happy for the recent Win by Montreal in the Grey Cup
Linda reminds us of a celebration of life for her sister on Saturday at Oshawa Funeral Service with visitation at 12:30 pm and the Celebration of Life at 1:30 pm.
Ted noted that if you are in Orono to take in the Santa Claus Parade, pay close attention to Santa aka Ted Morrison
