Manure sales 500 bags successfully sold out left.
Catch the Ace – not doing so well, need to encourage ticket buyers
Caroline Kipling won the weekly catch the ace draw
Bingo – Saturday October 23rd; Team #3 went as planned
Next Board meeting – Wednesday November 3rd. – 7pm – ZOOM
October 19 was the official flag raising for End Polio Now at Durham Regional Headquarters
Kids Against Hunger – Ted Morrison announced that we will have the program set up at the Jubilee to start work at 9 am sharp this Saturday.
Ted also reminded all members to get their cakes and ham orders in ASAP. The hams are $30.00 and cakes are $20.00 and come in a nice Christmas tin this year (great Christmas gift), see attached flyer . ORDER DEADLINE: NOV 14.
October 22nd., was the presentation of our donation to Waverly School for their fitness equipment..
Ted also announced a spouse’s night for a special speaker on November 30.
Lennis Trotter announced: Kids Safety Village – Christmas at the Village will be held this year: November 25 – 27 and December 2 – 4 PLUS one day for the clients of Grandview Children’s Centre.

Nov. 2 . Rotarian Richard Mewhinney, Chair District 7070 Areas of Focus Committee will be speaking to us about the water project in Ongutoi , Uganda.
Christmas trees are a go and Sue MacKinnon will be looking for volunteers shortly.
Trish Best Past President of the Rotary Club of Oshawa talked about The District 7070 Conference – May 13 -15 , 2022 right here in Oshawa. The keynote speaker Canadian president of General Motors and is being held at the new Courtyard by Marriott on Bloor Street Oshawa. Al Finnigan announced that all the manure is sold and delivered we sold 1500 bags in the spring and 500 in the fall. We had no complaints and lots of good exposure
Ana handed a Rotary Questionnaire for us to fill out.

John mentioned that this was his first in person address since covid
and gave us an update on region:
Durham is the fastest growth region in Canada at present
We are known as the energy capital world
The Region of Durham has Vaccinated a record 1 million people
Created an economic task force for the area
A Durham.ca portal
G.M. produced millions of masks for covid
Region partnered with Province to expand Bowmanville Hospital (37.5 million)
Promoted program for shop local on line
Community outreach programs- added designated paramedics and social workers to the streets and got 225 off the street last year
A new film studio was set up in a field north of Pickering
Pickering Nuclear facility is officially being de-commissioned, financed by the province
Partnered with Durham College to build 10 micro homes
Providing wrap around services for Beaverton area
311 phone service for region for individuals needing help
Purchased the first autonomous bus for Durham
Plans to have all electric buses in 10 years
GO east villages (walk and ride) in Bowmanville and Courtice areas to be built.
Broadband Fibre optics to be expanded to Uxbridge and Pickering
Proud that Durham district offices stayed open during covid
Ordered new electric ambulances
Planning a mixed Biometric system in Courtice
