We respectfully acknowledge that we are hosting this Rotary Club of Oshawa-Parkwood meeting from land within the jurisdiction of Williams Treaties and on the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nations, the Anishnaabe, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples. Rotary Leadership Institute -“In Person” has been cancelled for the fall of 2023.It will be held on ZOOM. Parts One Two and Three will be held on line. Part One: from 6 to 8 pm on Sept 13, 20 and 27. Part Two from 6 to 8 pm on Oct 11, 18 and 25. Part Three from 6 to 8 pm on November 8, 15, and 22. The Spring 2024 RLI will hopefully be held at Centennial College Event Centre,

Tulips for Polio 2023: we will have tulip bulbs for sale. Same as last year. Boxes of 20 bulbs will cost $20 each and available from Hilda and Al and will be for sale throughout the fall at the North Oshawa Farmers Market. Please start preselling to your friends today. November 27 - District Governor John Burns Official Visit to the 2 Rotary Clubs in Oshawa – 11:45 am to 1:30 pm, Wendel Clark’s Restaurant, 67 Simcoe St N, Oshawa, ON L1G 4S3. A luncheon meeting. Joint meeting of the two Rotary Clubs here in Oshawa. Our Nov 28 meeting is cancelled.

ACE OF SPADES: Colin Carrie won the opportunity to draw the Ace of Spades, but instead drew the 4 of Spades. The jackpot grows.
HAPPY BUCKS
David Penney was happy to have waxed his boat but his cell phone fell in the water. The phone is in rice now hopefully it will still work.
Robbie - his son turned 20 this week. Happy to have his business partners at the cottage.
Janice congratulated Ted on losing 30 pounds. Keep it up
Dave Andrews was happy to give out five cheques in the last couple of weeks on behalf of the club.
Al said he lost 20 pounds and he looks good too.
Lennis had a great weekend in Frankenmuth, Michigan . He passed around pictures of his visit.
John also commented on his great weekend with Lennis in Frankenmuth
Hilda announced her wedding anniversary with Al has reach 20 great years. She also was sad to lose her long time nursing friend.
